This large painting was the very first abstract piece I created - began in later 2017 and completed in 2018. I had some brush strokes and green tones in mind for some time before I decided I was ready to move it from my head to a large canvas! This 4ft x 6ft portrait mode format felt the best size for the brush strokes and mood I’d imagined. Surprisingly, the image came together very closely to what I wanted! (No painting ever turns out exactly as I want, but close is good!) The strong point of contrast between the cool whites and dark greens gives the eye something to anchor to while being swept along the painting. I named it “Wave of Calm” or Vague Calme which is French for “calm wave” .

I hope this painting brings it’s new home a gentle wave of peace and calm.

Painted in several layers of acrylic paints by Golden and Winsor and Newton. This painting will not be replicated or reproduced. This painting is the only painting I have ever reduced sale price from it’s original price - due to a 3 inch tear that has been repaired with gesso- in the upper center.
